Privacy Policy
Last updated: 7 October 2026
This policy explains what information the WolterLog app ("WolterLog", "we") collects, why, where it is kept, and the choices you have. WolterLog is operated by Raul Iagudaev, Israel, who is responsible for your information under this policy. You can reach us at support@wolterlog.com.
In short
- You sign in with Google. Your entries and receipts are kept in your own private account.
- Documents you scan are read by an AI service to fill in the details. They are not used to train AI models.
- We don't sell your data, show ads, or use advertising or analytics trackers.
- You can export your data and delete your account at any time, in the app.
1. Information we collect
Account information
When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address, profile picture and a Google account identifier (through Firebase Authentication). We use them to identify your account and to show who is signed in.
Information you enter
Your income and expense entries (type, amount, dates and description) and the receipt or document files you attach or scan (photos, images and PDFs), including whatever those documents show, such as business names, amounts and, on payout statements, your own details.
Scan usage
A count of the scans you make each day, to apply the daily scan limit.
Crash and error reports
When the app crashes or an operation fails, it sends a report with the error and technical details (app version, device model, operating system version), an installation identifier and your account's user ID, so we can find and fix the problem. Reports don't include your entries, amounts or receipts.
App security checks
To protect the service from abuse, the app uses Google Play Integrity (through Firebase App Check) to confirm that requests come from a genuine copy of the app.
Server logs
Our servers record technical events, such as a scan or an error, together with your user ID.
Subscriptions
If you buy a subscription, Google Play handles the payment. We receive the status of your purchase (which plan, whether it is active, and its dates), never your card details.
We don't collect your location or contacts, and we don't use advertising identifiers.
2. How we use it
- To provide the app: storing and syncing your entries and receipts across your devices, and producing reports and exports.
- To read the documents you scan (see section 3).
- To apply usage limits and prevent abuse.
- To find and fix bugs.
- To answer you when you contact us.
- To manage subscriptions.
We don't use your information for advertising and we don't sell it.
3. AI document scanning
When you use Smart Scan, images of the document's pages (up to 3) are sent to our server and from there to Groq, Inc. (United States), an AI provider that returns the details it reads: type, amount, dates and description. By default Groq doesn't keep these inputs, except temporarily (up to 30 days) when needed to troubleshoot a failure or investigate abuse, and its terms don't allow it to use them to train AI models. The AI can make mistakes, which is why you review the details before an entry is saved.
4. Where your information is stored, and who processes it
We use these service providers, which process information on our behalf under their own terms and security measures:
| Provider | Purpose | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Google: Firebase Authentication | Sign-in | Google's global infrastructure |
| Google: Cloud Firestore | Your entries | Europe (Belgium and the Netherlands) |
| Google: Cloud Storage | Your receipt files | United States (Iowa) |
| Google: Cloud Functions | Document scanning and account deletion | Europe (Belgium) |
| Groq | Reading scanned documents | United States |
| Google: Firebase Crashlytics | Crash and error reports | Google's global infrastructure |
| Google Play | Purchases and app integrity checks | Google's global infrastructure |
Some of these locations are outside Israel. By using WolterLog you agree to your information being processed there for the purposes in this policy.
A copy of your entries and receipts is also kept on the device you use, so the app works without a connection. Deleting your account removes it from that device.
5. Sharing
We don't sell or rent your information. We share it only with the providers listed above, when the law requires it, or if WolterLog is transferred to another operator, who would then be bound by this policy.
6. How long we keep it
- Your account, entries and receipts: until you delete them or delete your account.
- When you delete your account, your data is removed from our servers right away, and a cleanup that runs about a day later removes anything another of your devices uploaded in the meantime.
- Server logs: up to 30 days. Crash reports: up to 90 days.
- Backups, if we keep them: up to 30 days.
7. Your rights and choices
- Access and export: the Export tab produces your entries as a spreadsheet or PDF, and your receipts as one PDF.
- Correction: you can edit any entry.
- Deletion: you can delete single entries, or your whole account (Account menu → Delete account). See how to delete your account, including without the app.
You can also contact us to exercise your rights under Israel's Protection of Privacy Law or other laws that apply to you, and you may complain to Israel's Privacy Protection Authority.
8. Security
Information is encrypted in transit and stored with Google's encryption at rest. Access rules ensure that only you can read or change your data, and App Check blocks requests that don't come from the genuine app. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
9. Children
WolterLog is meant for adults (18 and over) and is not directed at children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We will update the date at the top when this policy changes, and tell you in the app or by email about significant changes.
